Primul avion construit (G-EBQU) a fost ini\u021bial echipat cu un motor de 85cp Cirrus, pentru verificarea caracteristicilor sale de manipulare. Acesta a fost mai t\u00e2rziu \u00eenlocuit de motorul prototip Major Halford\u2019s, numit apoi Gipsy. Al doilea model, G-EBRV, a fost dotat cu un motor Cirrus.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"times-new-roman-\">Ambele avioane au intrat \u00een 1927 \u00een King\u2019s Cup race (o competi\u0163ie anual\u0103 organizat\u0103 \u00een Marea Britanie pentru persoanele cu handicap la care particip\u0103 pilo\u0163i din mai multe \u0163\u0103ri), dar \u2018QU a fost retras cu scopul de a fi remodelat pentru a stabili noi recorduri. Hubert Broad a luat parte la aceast\u0103 curs\u0103, dar s-a retras. \u00cen luna august 1927, Broad a zburat 62 de mile (100 km) \u00eentr-un circuit \u00eenchis, un record pentru aeronave u\u0219oare din clasa a III-a cu 186.47 mph (300.09 kilometri pe or\u0103).
