The engineer Aurel Persu is known as the Romanian who built the first aerodynamic car in the world with the wheels fixed in the body. Until then, the wheels were positioned outside. He came to the conclusion that the perfect automobile has the shape of a falling drop, his invention bearing the usual name of \"Raindrop car\".<\/p>\n

In 1924, he managed to patent in Germany the first car with a perfectly aerodynamic shape. Later, his invention was recognized by other countries. Engineer Aurel Persu's car behaved excellently on the move, having a perfect balance and being able to take sharp turns even at 60 km\/h. General Motor and Ford expressed their interest in buying the patent, but Aurel Persu refused them because the representatives of these companies they had no intention of manufacturing the car and putting it on sale.<\/p>\n

He was the second husband of Ioana Cantacuzino, they were married for a short time. Being a close family member, he was involved as an engineer in the activity of the \"Mircea Cantacuzino\" Aviation School.<\/p>\n

Aurel Persu was a lecturer at the Polytechnic School, currently the Politehnica University of Bucharest, and held the position of general director at the IAR aircraft factory. Brasov. In 1950, he retired, but continued his work at the Technical Documentation Institute in Bucharest. He died in May 1977 in Bucharest.<\/p>\n
